Although the big 1/8th scale Ultimate Madoka figure is the most impressive Ultimate Madoka statue this more compact 1/10th scale figure is quite beautiful. I wasn't sure how much I would like it when I ordered it but after assembling her she's quite lovely. The pearlescent paint on the dress looks elegant and her pose is quite dreamy. I have both the Nendoroid and Nendoroid Petite of Ultimate Madoka and the wings are pretty plain on them but this full scale version has such pretty wings. Love the way they change from being transparent to being pink at the tips. I also appreciate the way the stand bar is connected to her dress. Makes her super sturdy and it perfectly camouflages into the dress. The base makes a pretty accent. Only issue I have is that I wish the underside of the dress had a little bit more star patterning. It's a bit more sparse than I expected.

Her wings were a bit tricky to assemble. Not the sturdiest things either but they seem to be sitting ok. In the end I'm pretty happy with her. I do believe that I ended up with a new one despite buying her second-hand from Mandarake. The magazine was a neat addition. Kind of a trip down memory lane to see the big line of Madoka figures.

The box Mandarake shipped it in was pretty big and fairly heavy but I really think AmiAmi is overcharging if they really expect to ship it as EMS only in a huge box.

Ultimate Madoka makes for an impressive display. I am happy that I decided to get her especially since she's not extremely expensive in the aftermarket if you can find a seller that's not charging excessively for shipping. She's certainly more affordable than the 1/8th figure and much easier to find space to store the box and to display her.

straywind (3 måneder siden) #22359024Ordered it somewhat recently and SAL registered to Canada was 2,180 Yen. Seemed a bit steep, but with the price difference between AmiAmi and Mandarake the prices were probably somewhat even. Registered SAL tracking isn't recognized by Canada Post so once it's out of Japan it's a waste of money though. ~_~ Kind of wondering if AmiAmi would have shipped it for a lot less. Mandarake is such a gamble.

Thank you for the answer :D I think I'm gonna vait a bit more for her then ;)

jia456 (3 måneder siden) #22419639Doubt amiami would be cheaper as SAL isn't even an option when you try to buy it from amiami, only EMS or DHL. Contacted their support and they confirmed that this figure is too big for a SAL package even by itself. Because of this, shipping with EMS on amiami would be above 4000+ JPY.

Thanks for the reply! I'm still waiting for it to arrive so I wasn't sure quite how big the figure box was although AmiAmi is known for packing large items in extremely large boxes. I got hit with unexpected large item shipping fees twice due to not realizing it when pre-ordering a couple of statues. It was 4,000 Yen each then for shipping and that was 2014. ~_~ Now with the exchange rate and what not, it would be crazy. Glad I skipped AmiAmi then! I know it just popped up in the pre-owned section again, but it's a trap! XD

Can't believe Mandarake ended up being cheaper. (^^);; Since they require registration for SAL they tend to be moderately more expensive than everywhere else. AmiAmi is great for small to moderate items, but anything bigger and you have to be ready to empty your wallet!
