Hello! *waves* This time I'm here with a review of the prize figure MASTER STARS PIECE THE LEVI and 3DMG by Banpresto. Not sure why he's "the" Levi, but anyway. The figure and 3DMG are separate items.

Here are the boxes.

The parts in the plastic.

3DMG

The 3DMG comes with assembly instructions.

And now for Levi!!

Lookin' good!

The base isn't too great, imo. It's not level at all when the figure is attached without its cloak. It's also worth noting that the feet don't slide in flush with the base, so don't try forcing it in.

Let's put his cloak on~

The balance with the base is much better with the cloak on since the weight is towards the back.

Close up.

Very nicely detailed face. What I love about this figure is that it looks like Levi!

Now that the figure's put together, it's time to get the 3DMG on.

First you take off the part on his back and then 4 pegs on the his belt and legs.

Friggin'. Pain. In. The. Butt. It took me at least 20 minutes to get all the 4 plugs out. The first one come out easily but the others were a challenge. I think everyone will run into some frustration here. It's good to have some nails to try to dig under the piece, but you have to be careful not to injure your finger/nail too.

The parts do a good job of hiding the holes but they're just so hard to take out.

You should assemble all the 3DMG parts before trying to put them onto Levi. Here are the blades in his hands.

Like with the figma, the two forefingers go into the trigger on the blade handles. Check out his nails! I like the bit of shadowing they put on them.

Complete!

Very nice detail on the 3DMG. I only wish that the two tanks in the back weren't so close together. The 3DMG also comes with a prop to attached to one of the tanks in the back but it seems well-balanced with just the base so I didn't use it.

Again with his cloak on.

Lastly, next to the MSP Law for size comparison.

Overall, this is a very, very nice prize figure. I think Banpresto's got a great line here. The figures are very detailed and while of course they're not quite up to retail scale figure standards, the amount of detail you get for the price makes this a great value.

The paint job is good and the sculpt is excellent. The only real detraction would be how difficult it is to get those circular pegs out to put on the 3DMG. (My finger still kinda hurts. =\) Thank goodness you'll probably only do that once since it's not likely anyone who has the 3DMG would display Levi without it. Even without the 3DMG though, Levi himself looks great.

Two big thumbs up!

Thanks for the review! I just got my figurine + gear and was thinking of writing one of my own when I actually found yours.

How is the paint job on his belts? Mine aren't so great and I'm not very happy with it, but I'm sure I won't care in the long run.

Yeah, it's a really good figure. You can tell it's not retail scale figure level, but it does come quite close.

mekyu6 år siden#2306140Thank you for your review ! I can't wait for mine to arrive now >_< I was worried about his face but he actually looks fine ! MSP guys are awesome *___*
Hope yours arrives soon! Then more people can share my pain when removing those damned pegs, LoL. I'm quite impressed with the MSP line.

I'm a little pissed at first when I saw the final product that it didn't matched the details and paintjob from the early prototype. Mostly his goggled eyes too.. but I'm a lot better now seeing your review!! Blue shirt and Brown paint on the Survey corps logo are bothering me though.. but nonetheless overall great figure!! :D

I didn't notice until you pointed it out but I guess his shirt is a little blue-ish. It's a combination of blue and gray, but personally it doesn't bother me. For the quality you get it's definitely a good value.
