As longtime seller and buyer on eBay, I can say that there have always been good deals, but sometimes they are harder to find because they are listed under "international sellers" or don't use any of the tricks bigger sellers use to get more hits.

But your theory is nice too, it makes sense, haha!

secretly-otaku (1 år siden) #15058626I would say it is rather outrageous the prices shops and companies are asking nowadays for figures. They are making eBay prices look actually affordable in comparison xD.

    Yes, exactly!

gayrell (1 år siden) #15040592I think everything is looking cheaper now that the yen in back up, tbh, especially with figure prices lately. I'm not sure people are pricing their figures any lower on eBay that I've seen, though I do price my own figures a little on the low side to sell things more quickly.

That's true. I guess when figure prices for nice scales tended to be around 7800yen, $200+ seemed absurd for the same figure, but now that most nice scales tend to be around 12000yen - 15000yen, $200+ doesn't seem so crazy for an eBay markup! The eBay sellers probably didn't raise their prices much higher b/c there IS a limit to people can and will spend!

ANIMEKRAZY101 (1 år siden) #15055091I feel the same for pricy figures. But I also feel that eBay prices for cheap figures like crab machine figures or dXFs are going up though.

You're right! I see a lot of prize figures for like $50-$75 on eBay.

I can't say I've noticed any drop in general figure pricing. Most of the one's I'm hunting are still a cancerous blite in aftermarket figure resell.

TyjosAzari (1 år siden) #15036217As a person who sells on ebay I can say that that the only way to really sell your figures on ebay is to sell them at a low price and I have noticed that the prices have been lower on some figures and I have started to hunt for figures again on ebay and I'm finding some of the ones I want at decent prices and it makes me want to get a few more figures off ebay due to finding them cheaper than some of the stores.

It does depend how quickly you want to sell something. If I want to unload a figure in a week, I start an auction at $.99 and I've never felt like I sold for too low. I feel like this is the best way to sell fast and get a fair price, tbh.

Act (1 år siden) #15036219I can't speak for anyone else, but when I sell on ebay I only mark up for fees and shipping -- in order for me to really mark something up, the rest of the prices for that item would have to be so outrageous I'd feel like it'd look sketchy for me to not get close to them.
Stores like terraformer that have both ebay and, say, Rakuten storefronts generally charge extra because of fees + default EMS shipping, so you can usually find stuff cheaper elsewhere, but the prices once everything is said and done are comparable, especially for low-fee items like Nendo Petites.
You definitely see some people who list figures for batshit prices, but overall I think fees/shipping account for a lot of the differential. That said, I've only been selling for a couple of years -- in 2010 things might have been different.

It definitely used to be different years ago - figures on eBay were often 2-4 times as expensive on eBay.

Now, I'm seeing for new figures only a $20-$50 increase. Of course, there are often stores that list for a lot higher, but you can still find the more reasonable / in-line prices.
