Questions about how to use MFC and the Rules of MFC

franjandar8 dager sidenAsk MFC
Hello MFC,

I just wanted to ask something to you and please don't take offense to anything I am about to say. I really don't mean to offened or anger anybody, I just want to have three questions answered:

1. Where can I find the new rules and updates of MFC?

So a lot of people have given me expamples of posts of the Mods (specifically for new rules/updates of older rules), but I have no idea where to find them. If you could tell me where I could find them and possibly read throught them that wouls be highly apreciated.

2. Where can you find threads?

So a lot of my older blog post/Ask MFC have been deleted saying I should move the question I had or the thing I had to say to the thread. However I could not find (by myself) a thread of these specific things: Shipping/Customs thread, Dutch Figure Collectors thread.
Also I don't know how to search for threads in general so if anybody could help me out with these dilemas that would be highly appreciated

3. Are blog posts about traggeties (specifically hurricanes) allowed?

So there have been a lot of blog posts about hurricanes lately, because of hurricane Irma and Maria (correct me if I'm wronf, the Dutch news didn't really report much on the second hurricane Maria). I know that people should be ably to talk about this, but I have heard other people with arugments for another blog post (that was quite personal) that was about a person having terminal depression saying that: "That blog post made people feel very uncomfortable" and "personal stuff like that should be moved towards a different blog site, for instince: Tumblr etc." and "It isn't related with figures at all".

I know depression and a huricane or two very different things, but I can't help but think that hurricanes don't have anything to do with figures (unless you talk about the damage your figures have take/luckily avoided during the huricane) therefore it would techincally not be allowed on MFC.

I'm sorry if I come over as rude, but I really just want to know. I don't mean to be rude in anyway, I can come over as rude, because I don't really know how to put my thoughts over in (English) sentences.

Eitherway thank you for reading and thank you for your time,
I hope you can answer, if not then it's no problem.
Greetings,
Franjandar.

franjandar (7 dager siden) #27145323So just to ask there has been this person who has been posting about the hurricanes and what he/she had seen and experienced, but it doesn't have anything to do with figures what so ever (only in their first log book thing did it have to do with figures).
Should we report it since it technically has nothing to do with figures? The blog posts I am talking about are blog/34947 and blog/34938

It depend on how much you want to stick to the rules. Nobody is going to go into your home because you didn't reported a post on MFC. As I said, you can always ask a mod about it. Personally, I'm a pretty lenient person, so I let those kind of post be as long as they don't become spam.

Feel free to report them or not. Your choice.

If you have more questions, I suggest to open a thread here: club/99/discuss...

Are personal tragedies allowed on this site?
So far (I'm a recent user, but lurked a lot before) I think yes, as long as it relate to figures. If it is about your collection and how you dealt with an hurricane, yes. If it's about being unconfortable about your hobby with your familly, friend or lover, yes. If it's about your personal problem in no relation to figures or collecting or doesn't have at least a picture of a figure... You are probably better off elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't care about these people or post, but these kind of comments are just not the place for a collecting focus website. These are better on a personal blog or on a psychological helping forum. Why are these post not removed...Well I admit as much as I want to sometime flag them, it's kind of uncomfortable since it's basicaly "Hey I know you feel super depress right now and you want to kill yourself, but your post don't follow the rules so we deleted it.", probably making him his day....
But hey, I'm not a mod here so take it with a grain of salt.
(Can I just add that I cringe everytime someone feel depress and people tell them to go on Tumblr.)
