Hello MFC!

It's a long time since I've posted anything or been active on the MFC forums. It's been 3 years since my last figure sculpting post and holy crap have things changed since then~ well in the past few years I've been incredibly busy working, trying to get back into school and dealing with my depression. Despite all that I've trying perfecting my art skills and sculpting here and there and although I'm certainly no professional, I've improved a lot (I think lol) anyway here's gallery link to my most recent anime WIP. It's mostly complete and I'd be interested to hear you guys thoughts and criticisms of my work!

Gallery!

PS it's been a while since I've posted anything so please forgive me for any formatting errors ^^;

I think the silhouette and mass distribution/proportions are wonderful!

I do wish you had a prelim sketch and turn around to pair with it

breezerbree (10 dager siden) #43261667Thank you! My goal is to one day create high quality anime sculpts for display~ When sculpting I didn't have particular character in mind, I just kind sculpted specific features I liked in various existing anime figures/ animes. Now that you've brought it up it he does kinda look like King (wasn't my intention haha).
Wow. This is a cool goal! Good luck doing it! You definitely have talent!
It is a pity that this is not King, but the original character also looks great! lol

Act (11 dager siden) #43176571Wow, that's really wonderful. The only criticism I have is that I'd make the forehead fuller, but that also depends a bit on the reference material's art style.
Do you have a FB/Insta or something you post WiPs to?

I have a Twitter and a Reddit (@tkpxo8 and u/tkpxo8 respectively) I post WIP pics and art occasionally.

unRyo (10 dager siden) #43201160Nice job on the hair, the composition of large and small strands make it feel energetic. As criticisms go, I find the face to be a little flat. Anime-styled sculpts tend to have the nose and mouth jut out a fair bit... or maybe the eyes are a bit high and not deep enough? The ears seem a bit high as well. The jawline seems to be a bit too pronounced leading up to the ear.
Other than that, hope you'll update more often than once every 3 years for your sculpts.

Thank you for critiques and detailed suggestions, I'll be sure to take it to heart when finalizing the sculpt. I'll also post a reference sketch sheet soon which I used as a guideline for the sculpt. That way it will be easier for others to compare & contrast the blueprint to the final product.

And yeah, I plan on updated much more than one every 3 years lol ^^;

Necroid_Neko (10 dager siden) #43251011Did you 3D print him or sculpt him by hand? I'd say that the overall figure needs some sanding to give it a smoother look, especially on the hair, but this is really good!

Thanks dude! The sculpt was entirely sculpted by hand using super sculpey clay. Once I bake it I plan to sand it so it looks more polished.
