Question deleted...but also I have another questionQuestion deleted...but also I have another question

*EDIT to make it shorter and less confusing without my rambles and messy thoughts. Sorry about that.

So I woke up with a notification that my article last night was deleted. It was just me asking if SAL taking a long time to move was normal ( I needed some reinsurance since a package of mine has been stuck in posting/collection for 12 days. It’s also because I haven’t bought in a long while) and ask if anyone had a similar experience happening to them as well. I didn’t get a chance to look at all the replies some took to write after the article was deleted. I guess it’s because I mention the shop name when it was more about shipping?

Also this is an entirely different question. I feel bad for confusing people. I really suck at putting my thoughts in order.

This is Not SAL related but still shipping related if I’m making sense. I was wondering what is the best carrier to ship a huge package domestically in US. I only shipped a scale once and was lucky the person was in the same state I was. It cost about $25, but if they were further location, it would have cost and arm and leg. Do shipping a 3-5lb large package usually cost over $30?

*reassurance, not reinsurance.

Also, USPS is pretty much always going to be the cheapest carrier for shipping figures domestically. Places like UPS and FedEx are only cheap for businesses because of bulk shipping deals they make. There's a chart on the USPS webpage that shows the price per weight based on how far you're shipping something (aka the Zone) but I can't remember where it is exactly. From what I could tell, a 4 pound package should only cost around $24 to ship across the country as Priority Mail. Someone at the post office might be able to help you find the chart. I think it cost me $17 to ship ITEM #35297 From Ohio to California, it was Zone 3 to Zone 9 if I remember correctly to give you an idea.

I responded to your original question yesterday about RSAL being slow. Not sure if you got a chance to read my response, but I have experienced it recently also. Some orders were stuck in Posting/Collection for up to a week, taking 2.5 to 3 weeks to arrive in my hands. On the other hand I had a couple arrive in 8 and 9 days from posting. I also had a Registered Airmail package take 16 days to arrive instead of the normal 4-6.

Longest I've had one stuck in Posting/Collection was 27 days. It arrived safely a week later.

Winteri (1 måned siden) #64113933You just reminded me about the difference cost with RSAL and Airmail.I can’t believe I forgot about that and wish I ask a difference in shipping option before I paid.
Were you also having similar SAL lag? I think I remember seeing your username as notification but I didn’t get to see it before it was deleted.

I am experiencing the same RSAL lag. I had an item take a week to ship out from amiami and it then sat another week before it went through customs.

Winteri (1 måned siden) #64113927Hi! Sorry if my other question was confusing. It was an entirely different question and I mashed it together without proof reading. Hope you don’t mind me asking about ground shipping. I was wondering how did ground shipping from your experience cost under $20? I usually get estimate about it over $30+ The slowest method for USPS. I think I got it under $20 before, but the item was nendo and not a scale figure.

Ground shipping has never been above $20 for me I believe. Do you print your labels yourself or go to the post office and pay? If you print them yourself via paypal, it's a bit cheaper. Also, try to condense as much as possible. Cost increases with box size as well, so try to find as small of a box as you can (without potentially damaging the box, anyways). Nendos usually only cost $9 - $11 for me via ground shipping depending on where I'm sending it.

Akiza (1 måned siden) #64105901Shipping depends on the size of the box, weight of the figure, scale etc.
Usually I like to go with airmail as it tends to be like 5 bucks more than RSAL but is usually a lot faster.
Also a shame about your previous post because I was wondering the same thing with the RSAL lag.

Within the US, USPS is probably the cheapest. Ground shipping usually doesn't cost more than $20 and while they do say it can take up to 10 days, it usually only takes 3 to 5 in my experience. It doesn't come with the insurance that priority mail comes with, though.

Is it really bad that my first thoughts reading this were to alert this thread and get it deleted to mess with you even more?

Sadly yes, always I send a Scale I pay at least 18$, however this is Economy only, not tracking nothing, Priority is 30¨right away and still not a tracking included sincer my greedy country demands us to ship priority and pay 6$ additional for a simple tracking number ad since all Scales with box are automatiucaly 1kg so it's basically impossible to ship a scale under 30$ :/

I've only ever used SAL when I buy from Japanese shops, and the two scales I've bought (ITEM #655901 and ITEM #549362) only cost about $12 each to ship. Given, those were pretty lightweight, but they do indicate to me that not all scales cost a ton to ship internationally. It ultimately depends on weight/size/complexity, but if a figure qualifies for Small Packet SAL, you shouldn't have to pay much for shipping.
