Looks like Plamoya may be the first Covid-19 shop fatality. If there were any others before this, I wasn't aware of them. This is the message that's posted when you try their website:

Our 12-year long journey has come to an end.
Plamoya has been terminated permanently due to the suspension of international shipping services due to spread of COVID-19.
Thank you very much for your support for a long time.

I've used Plamoya a few times in the past. They had some good deals from time to time. Of course they had some super inflated prices too, like many other shops. Still, I will miss them and I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend...

Criscokid3 måneder siden#77771157Well that sucks! I have purchased several items from them over the years. That's one less valuable source for niche items. I wonder where their inventory will end up? I was thinking the same thing: probably will be stored in a cheap warehousing unit(s), then sold off to 2nd hand figure shops and online platforms limited to local shipping in Japan.

This is sad, hope the employees find other work. A good portion of my collection came from them. I wonder whos going to get their stock? Can anyone suggest a similar company.

MC707 Rage your dream
This is like a nightmare. 2020 was off to a good start for many and with the press of a button everything went to crap. Both businesses and people's plans ruined completely out of nowhere. Sigh, rest in peace plamoya.

I bought my Amakuni Asuka from them and while I overspent significantly it's still sad to see them go.

On a different note -
MFC has been around for at least 12 years.

For some reason I thought MFC was only 8-10 years old. However, the oldest user (which is probably the original Mod) was created 12 years ago. So it seems like Plamoya and MFC were created around the same time. That's my mistake.

4catdoorman3 måneder siden#77778350Well, that's too bad. As you suggested the online store had some hard to find items attractively priced but also had other item prices beyond redemption as far as affordability was concerned.
Plamoya is how I originally found this MFC website. I had never ever heard of MFC until I clicked on 1 of the affiliate links Plamoya had posted looking for another anime good outlet.

Yes, there's also the element of nostalgia. If Plamoya has been in business for the last 12 years, that's longer than MFC has been around.

"...other item prices beyond redemption..." That's a good way to put it. :)

Yes, even if you've never used Plamoya, one less shop is one less option you have of finding something you're looking for. Plus, as others have said, they did seem to have quite a huge inventory of both current and older items.
