I purchased both the Chino and the Cocoa Bunny Ver. figures from FOTS, and after receiving them and checking the contents inside, both figures were broken, which was kind of mind boggling to think about.

Upon researching further (which I probably should have done before to save me the hassle of returning), it appears that this is not something that is new to them.

Yet, their figures are pretty pricey considering the quality (of which was not great either even if it wasn't broken). You can tell how cheap the materials are from the figures, as when you take them out, there's almost no weight to them. Also, I'm not sure who decided to pack the inside of the box like this, but it feels like just a random amalgam of packing materials, from bubble wrap to cotton, yes, cotton.

To think how much they would normally charge for their figures is just mind boggling, and I'm shocked that they're still somehow in business with those kinds of prices, and delivering sub-par, and apparently, easily breakable figures.

Anybody else have the same terrible experience with FOTS lately?

Not yet, but reading these blog entries and other comments online sure are enough to get anyone on their nerves, not gonna lie. I am still waiting for ITEM #740996 to arrive home but I'm well aware of FOTS' reputation around here. It's not good, and I'm sure they must have their reasons if they garnered it in the first place. Anyways, I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt at the moment since this is the first figure I get from them. I also have the added bonus that I didn't pay full price for her. The website I got her from was selling her for like $90 brand new and promised to ship her with extra protection, so I thought it was well worth the shot.

Even if it arrives broken (which I'm totally expecting at this point), I'm mentally prepared to glue her back together if possible. What I'm hoping is that she doesn't arrive shattered into a million little pieces. XP

But yeah, as a manufacturer, those prices aren't really worth the risk considering the quality of the materials they use nor their terrible packaging.

I got ITEM #674815 and ITEM #806412 without issue, but I think I’ve been extremely lucky with my item choices and I won’t risk it again. The former even had a “normal” packaging, with a blister and stuff, and is actually really nice (PICTURE #2315728). But somehow, instead of continuing down this path, they decided to stop caring again. Dunno what their strategy is. Must be hard to do business when major websites start displaying huge creepy breakage warnings for your items.

I was supposed to get ITEM #806411 too, but for some unknown reason it looked of a lesser quality than its dark counterpart. To make things worse, they didn’t send it to Figuya and I ended up cancelling my order several months after the release (?!), as it was still in “Preparing” status or something. Dunno if the B'Full switch thingy, which occurred roughly during that time, messed the supply chain up.

As some pointed out, it’s a shame, as they’re the only ones making prepainted figures for some series. Still waiting for some decent Wataten stuff.

krg624714 dager siden#81209294I bought ITEM #844076 and it came with the head broken off and several of her strands of hair too. It looked so cute in promo pics but the 3D printer they use is turned to a lower resolution for the final product especially the shorts. You could see the print lines. The gap between her shoes and feet were awful. Like a cheap toy glued together. They printed her hollow leaving her fragile and feeling light and cheap. They charge premium prices for this crap. The sculpts are often cute but they are simple. These are worse quality than premium prize figures. I have all 3 of these and they are better than FOTs.

I’ve bought many figures now and FOTs is the worst. Never buy if the materials say PMMA, PVC-L, or any other 3D printed material. Insight uses the same process and is the same company.
The other B’Full lines like Pulchra I’ve had great luck with and have gotten nice figures so I figured the rumors where over exaggerated. They are not. It’s the material, QC, and 3D printing that are the problem along with packaging. There is a reason they don’t have clear panels.

Right? When I saw her head completely broken off like that, I was pretty sad since the figure didn't look too bad, albeit, it was like as a feather, almost literally...

Ok I hate FOTS more than anyone, but it really bugs me when I see people say something like this. The fact that a figure box is not a "window box" is not an indication of the quality of the figure or its packaging.

Every single resin figure I own has come in a box with no window, because they require special packing for safety. Window boxes are only suitable for less fragile figures, like cheaper PVC ones. Would you want your 1/2.5 polyresin figure to arrive in a window box? No, because that's absurd.

Don't get me wrong, these figures are garbage and their packing sucks, but it has nothing to do with the box not having a "window".

Are you sure you didn't get the Pulchra one? The Pulchra one is resin and therefor likely to be broken. Also has almost no weight.

FOTS one is just a remake with PVC.

GosuGopher4 dager siden#81209001I will never by a FOTS figure, even though very often they're the only manufacturer who will touch various series. Broken figures aside, there is next-to-no quality control. While some of the imperfections can be cleaned up at home, for the prices they command for their figures, I have little desire to even entertain them.
I'm also sad that they seem to be growing as well, more and more smaller companies have been brought under the B'full umbrella in recent years.

Other than FOTs and Insight they are ok. It’s really only the 3D printing that is the issue. Just check the material when you are considering buying. Always pass on PMMA, or PVC-L.

I've been on the fence for a while with FOTS, but basically hanging on the "Don't buy" side in regards to their Prisma Illya swimsuit figures. I LOVE PriYa, and I love matching figures, but the price to poor quality ratio is way too off balance for me to take the risk. Luckily we're getting the Wedding Bikini line from Kadokawa, so this trash manufacturer won't be seeing my money. It's amazing how a company can have such a bad public image, but still sell enough to stay in business. Griffon was really hit or miss with their figures, but they had a lot of decent stuff compared to FOTS and they had some good protos in the works, but they went under twice and are probably never coming back. Shame.

I really like their figures, it's a shame they are so fragile and they haven't learnt much about packaging. I got their swimsuit Kanna and I was 100% happy with the figure itself, it's so cute, except the hair did break in transit.
