THICCLING • 3 måneder siden • #85060261oh well yeah, obviously i'd choose other methods and sites if I lived outside of the US. i almost always use EMS or AIR but with COVID i obviously have a lot of restrictions. as for using DHL, i have the money so I don't mind shelling it out for combined orders. just don't see it worthwhile for a prize figure haha

Kaffeine • 3 måneder siden • #85060257Yes, if I was in that USA I would order form BBTS because it seems so worth it but when you don't live in the US it's not because of shipping, conversion rates, Tax & Duties (customs fees). i end up spending less on Mandarake. Plus I don't see a reason to use DHL because this is a hobby, it won't kill me to wait. Spending the extra money on speedy services seems unneeded. But I can understand that Mandarake's DHL shipping is pricey but I've never had an interest in dropping 4000 yen when I can just spend 1000 - 2000 with Sal or Air.

Seconding this. I've hardly ever seen prize figures go up in price UNLESS they're Kuji ones, but even then you've got a chance. Just play the waiting game and prices will be sure to drop.

It reaaaally depends. I've seen a few BNHA and Miku prizes sold in Mandarake for around the same price as preorder, if not slightly more. I actually skipped the preorder of ITEM #809190 thinking that it would go down in price, and the complete opposite happened.

And let's not even talk about the Kimetsu no Yaiba prizes.

It's true that most of the time, prizes do sell for much lower than preorder price; my advice would be: prior to placing a preorder, investigate a little bit for aftermarket price of figures from the same line, or same character. That will give you a better idea of what to expect.

But personally, I still prefer to preorder; that way, I'll have a guaranteed fixed price to pay. Playing the game of "will this go down in price in the aftermarket?" has brought me a lot of regrets in general, so it's a pass for me.

When is comes to crane game prize figures, there is really no reason to preorder. I know most say it's to avoid the after market, but crane game figures rarely ever go up in price. That is my experience at least. The only time they do go up is usually long after they stopped offering them at arcades or maybe if they are a very popular character.

Most people win the prizes with the thought of reselling them online. The first few listings might sell for $40 or more so I usually wait a few days for more sellers to list them. There are so many added later on in the aftermarket that I can usually buy them for around $12 or less.

This logic only applies to crane figures though. Retail figures and kuji figures are completely different.

So you can avoid paying higher with after market price and secure your order .again it depends on the figure . Some figures theses days almost 10 times the original price .
