Well, it finally happened; A figure that I had shipped to me was stolen from the front office of my apartment building before I got the chance to grab it after work (>m<). My apartment complex has a system that shipping services are supposed to enter the packages into that allows them to be held in a locker, but because they've been getting lazy and people haven't been picking their things up, the system has overflowed. Now, they just leave the packages out wherever they can fit in the front office and mail room area. Now, just anyone can come and claim a parcel, even if it isn't theirs. It looks like a handful of other people had their mail stolen form the same spot as well. I'm really disappointed, because it was a preorder I'd been excited for, especially since I've had a really rough week :(. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I've already contacted AmiAmi and my apartment management, but I'm not hopeful. ITEM #1120299 was the figure, and while at least she wasn't expensive, her plus shipping was close to $50, which is a lot for me right now (╥﹏╥).

SebastianLover12 dager siden#97934351Do you think it's possible one of the other tenants took it by mistake? Considering there's mail all over the place I think that would be a likely scenario. It just seems odd that a person would go out of his way to waltz into an apartment lobby where there may or may not be packages looking for something to steal. Porch pirates typically attack homes where boxes are just sitting outside ripe for the taking, but I guess it's not impossible that a rando took it.

lol US cities are overrun with package thieves. The smart ones know which buildings have poor mail systems and come in consistently to take packages. It's way more lucrative for them than just taking packages from random porches.

Hmmm, I wonder if word got out on the overflow situation and has actually caused a group of cretins to roam around looking for packages they can lift because of it? Hear about this happening a lot recently x_x

EmiliaHatsune13 dager siden#97932016I didn't realize that the security officer that is usually by the desk wasn't there, I don't really think it's my fault that something like this happened, although I suppose I should have tried to send it to the post office or something (╯︵╰,)
What I actually meant to say was, you were aware beforehand that packages are being left outside the locker in the front office. This itself is a red flag for possible theft.

I always collect my packages directly from the post office early morning, before it even gets assigned to the postal delivery agent.
If you cant do that, then have the post office hold the package for you to pickup.

Heavenly_Otaku13 dager siden#97931910You were aware that something like this would happen eventually with locker overflowed and stuff.
A mistake from your end it is. No point contacting Amiami. Contact the local Police for theft.

This is incredibly rude, OP clearly stated it was other people in the apartment who haven't been picking up their packages causing the overflow, not themselves.
Even if the OP had an overflowing locker (which again, they stated that they didn't) the victim is not the one to place the blame on.
Shame on you.

yeah so I deal with this on the regular. For perspective I really only live a few miles from the heart of Detroit Michigan but the neighborhood I'm in isn't really bad at all. We still see our fair share of package thieves all the damn time though and it's a shame. If I'm expecting a package on a day I'm usually going to just sign for it or ask my boss if I can leave and go throw it in my house real quick. Fortunately he understands what it's like shipping expensive things and having them possibly jacked off the porch so he doesn't seem to mind. On the topic of package thieves and this hobby though man they've got to be thinking what the fuck did I just steal when they open up these figures lmfao

Check in your tenancy agreement for who is responsible for the pacakges when they are deposited into the "locker" (or left next to it in this case).
If it's not you, go to them for reimbursment. ;p Also contact the police.

Are there cameras in the room with locker (or in the vacinity?) If there are ask manager of the building to check those for footage around the time the pacakge arrived (according to the package tracking) and after.
