I Need an Expert Opinion! I'm Going Mad!I Need an Expert Opinion! I'm Going Mad!Ask MFC

So I ordered this Taiga Aisaka China Dress figure (ITEM #31615) off of Ebay and I'm not entirely sure if she's officially licensed or not. I compared the one I got to the images on her MFC page and I'm still having trouble determining.
I showed some folks in my figure-collecting discord server and they're saying some parts seem suspicious, mainly the mold-lines on her bangs -- they're saying she's a well-made bootleg

She looks pretty official to me on account of her eyes and dress pattern being similar to other users' pictures. She even has what looks to be copyright info on the bottom of her base which I thought was only on official figures. Anywho, I'm not sure anymore and I want to know whether I should return it or not since I paid a pretty penny. I've included pictures of mine below.
Thank you so much!

-- PS I know Ebay isn't the best site for figures, but I couldn't find her anywhere else and the seller had really good ratings!

LolipopGallery5 dager siden#109562508Compared to the other pictures of bootlegs for this figure yours doesn't look like one to me. I have the black dress variant and can tell you that Wave figures from then are not the best anyway. They have small defects but nothing like what I see shown pictured as a bootleg for this figure. I think you got a real one. But I am no expert. She looks pretty good anyway.mariijane5 dager siden#109585889i won't go over everyone else's points already, but based on my own critique (outside of figures i also check camera parts and bags for bootlegs), this absolutely appears to be authentic.
EDIT- just to add, this is an older figure. small, inconsistent mold lines come with the territory.
it's also HIGHLY unlikely to find a bootleg of that quality from a 2010 figure. the industry hasn't been around -that- long when it comes to high quality scales, etc.

Yeah! I appreciate your insight! I figured an older figure like this would almost definitely have at least some issues. And you're right, I really doubt a 2010 bootleg would be able to look so close to the authentic!

Ah yeah, especially 2010 Wave-- I sort of expected some subtle defects!
But thank you! The black-dress version is really pretty and I was honestly planning to get that one, but it's like over 100 bucks more expensive ;(

Guy93946 dager siden#109554336I would look for any uneven lines on skin in arms or inner thighs areas. Bootlegs tend to skip some steps to sand off the lines especially for smaller scales 1/8 and 1/7
years ago, I received a bootleg in a real figure box from yahoo japan auction.
Alas this can be the case with old authentic figures as well. For instance one of my favorite figures ITEM #1026 suffers from this, albeit it's very subtle. The body, legs and shoulders are all one big solid and heavy piece. Notice the subtle line on the thigh as well as the chest where the clothes are supposed to align.
On bootlegs these tend to be far more pronounced, but mold design and quality control on authentic figures can also be the cause.
Your figure from what I can see has only the tiny mold lines that most figures have, so all good on that front.

Ah I see, thank you for the info, I'll definitely look into those points -- I've already confirmed a fair bit of them, but I'll continue to research. Thank you for your thoughts on this! I agree

Hello, I am Japanese, so my English may be poor, but I would like to send you some information.

Could you please check all of the following points to confirm if your figure is authentic or fake?

Package
1 Whether the size, shape and weight of the package is the same as the authentic one
According to Mandarake, the package size of this figure is 270mm x 180mm x 160mm / 306g.
2 Whether the Japanese wording is correct
3 Whether the copyright sticker is attached or not
Your figure's copyright sticker is authentic.
4 Whether the coloring of the package is the same as the authentic one
5 Whether the position of the figure is correct when the figure is placed in the box
6 Whether the manufacturer's logo is attached or not
Is "DENGEKI HOBBY 電撃ホビーマガジン" written on the top of the box? Is "WAVE" and "ASCII MEDIA WORKS" written on the back of the box?

Condition of the figure
1 Whether the facial expression is the same as authentic one
2 Whether the coloring is the same as the authentic one
3 Whether the details are the same or not
In the case of your figure, is the wrinkles in the china dress the same as the authentic one?
Are the shoes on the right foot the same as the authentic one?
Is the pink nail polish on the fingertips and the bracelet on the left hand perfect?
4 Seams
Some fake figures have seams that authentic ones do not have.
5 Pedestal
Is the pedestal the same design as the authentic one? Authentic ones may have the manufacturer's name on them.

I believe your figure is authentic. I've only seen your figure in pictures, so I cannot be sure, but the china dress and other details are very similar to those created by WAVE. As to the package, it looks like the authentic package and the figure appears to be in the correct position.

Are there any fakes of this figure? I have never seen one in Japan.

Thank you for reading.

Yeah I made sure to go for a seller with good ratings-- but what do you mean the eyes look weird? I thought it looked pretty legit
