I only pre-order figures from Good Smile because of those cursed GSC bonuses. Other than that, its not worth pre-ordering

To kind of back up what some others have said, I work at a pop culture store, and I know recently we've only been getting in enough figures to cover the people that pre-ordered them, so anyone else that wants it would have to brave the aftermarket.
So basically, pre-ordering is a way to secure what you want at a certain price that you will get on a certain date. If you're willing to have it later and possibly at a cheaper or more expensive price, then there's no point to pre-ordering.

Pre-ordering is worth to ease my mind with the fact that I am basically guranteed a copy of the figure on release date with retail price.
No aftermarket hell, which is plagueing my wishlist of older figures.

Scale figures on the other hand, will not get made if there are no pre-orders. Simple as that. So as a collector it is encouraged to pre-order, and generally speaking the immediate post-release of scale figures sees a large jump in price as any remaining stock gets picked up. This doesn't always happen, larger scales are a good example that tend to sit around in warehouses because shipping is so expensive and wind up on sale shortly after launch as a result. But in general you want to pre-order to avoid ridiculous aftermarket prices of scale figures.

That's very interesting. Thanks for that info. I didn't know about that. I think I saw a few descriptions mention that the figures are made to order, including a date when they're ready to ship. I think it was a company that made cast off figures, so I thought it was probably because of that. It would be interesting to know how much the production runs vary in the amount of figures getting made.

The best case I can think of where I should've preordered was ITEM #756833 cuz this SKYROCKETED. I've only just started preordering a few prize figures for the heck of the thrill (not good in retrospective but whoops :"o ). Prize figures always go down after time so it's just a matter of a waiting game// I do think it's quite unnecessary unless you REALLY feel like doing so (either to have it right away, aftermarket worries, etc).
I've never tried Mandarake since their format always scared me but MMMMM seems like such a good investment cuz it's much cheaper than preordering and prize figures are always going to be cheaper SOMEWHERE in the aftermarket, just bout finding the right time and place!!

Ya with a stroke of luck I got that figure on Mandarake with no box for 800 yen. When originally it's 2500 to 4000 yen. crazy overpriced.

ya, there's are a few that are overpriced because of how rare, in-demand, or there Lottery figures. Which I would never spend that much on a prize I would just buy a scale at that point.

If you're just interested in prizes, pre-ordering pays off in the case of a prize being expensive in aftermarket. It's hard to tell if a prize will end up like this, so it can be safer just to pre-order if what you're interested in seems popular.

Pre-ordering can also give you peace of mind that you will definitely get the figure you want. In the case of prizes though, extra stock is usually not much of an issue in the early aftermarket.

As for your other point, you're not allowed to advertise sales through articles. I suggest you remove the part of your blog where you ask for someone to take over your orders. You can post ads for those figures instead.

Kaffeine • 3 måneder siden • #85020872no, I had paid for two items and kept them in my pile of loot, but then that same week I discovered Mandarake and went to go cancel those orders (because the same figures were much cheaper than ordering thought BB) but then I realized that there's a 7 day limit for cash returns and I missed it by 1 day. Now I'm stuck with store credit.

That makes sense. I've never used their 'pile of loot' option because the shipping is only $4, so no sense in waiting when an item is released.
