PICTURE #2178388.
But I'd personally go for the sitting Devil Homura (ITEM #198394) if I were getting this figure. These would be the things I'd consider making that choice:
• The other Madoka/Homura (ITEM #490595 & ITEM #543992) more closely resemble Ume Aoki's art style since they're based on her artwork directly. Whereas ITEM #98665 and ITEM #198394 are based more on the way their character designs were adapted from Aoki-sensei's art in the anime. So in terms of style, the sitting Devil Homura is a closer fit to display alongside this Madoka.
• Totally different compositions: To put things in art terms, the sitting Devil Homura displays side-by-side with this Ultimate Madoka more like a diptych, whereas the other two based on Aoki Ume's art are definitely intended from the get go to be displayed as a set within the same frame of view (although they display separate fine too!).
• Different display needs: ITEM #490595 & ITEM #543992 are very tall. ITEM #98665 / ITEM #198394 require a wide display, especially together.
• Downside: The sitting Devil Homura has infamous leaning issues. She necessitates a DIY job to display. If she's unopened, she'll need a support rod or something else placed under her butt from the get-go. If you get her opened and previously displayed, there's a good chance you're going to have to heat up her dress and warp her back into her original position before putting a rod in place. Upside: If that's a bullet you're willing to bite, she's a lot cheaper on the aftermarket than the standing Devil Homura. She'll probably look great together with either of them! Here's a pic of the standing Homu alongside her:
This is much more than I was expecting and I really appreciate the time and thoughtfulness you put into this!!
My biggest pause was definitely the art style! I prefer the og art style, but I have more options with side to side than going for taller figures.
I think what got me too was that I liked the activeness of Madoka with her bow and Homura standing rather than the sitting one. But current price/aftermarket price affects that decision too lol
Leaning will always scare me I have two figures right now I need to work on and adding a notoriously heavy leaner makes me so anxious lol
But I love both these characters so we'll see! Thank you so much for this comparison it's exactly what I needed <3 <3

is there an opinion on which Homura she looks good with? ie the sitting one vs the standing one? I've really wanted a set of them, but I'm so torn, esp with the price of the standing one and nothing (yet?) on if the sitting one will be rereleased..
